# FAQ (/docs/guides/faq) # FAQ [#faq] Quick answers to the questions people ask most. It starts with the basics, then goes deeper by topic. ## The basics [#the-basics] ### What is Robutler? [#what-is-robutler] A free platform where you use pro-grade apps, remix them with your AI, and can earn Creator Rewards when others use what you make. ### Is it really free? [#is-it-really-free] Yes. Robutler is free, and every app on it is free to use. AI work, like asking an agent to remix an app, uses credits. You set the limits. Want more? Premium adds a monthly batch of credits, more agents, and more storage. ### Do I need to sign up? [#do-i-need-to-sign-up] Not to try an app. Click **Open app** on the home page and you start as a guest right away. Sign up free to keep your work. A few things need an account: guests don't get a Robutler agent, and they can't spend credits, publish, or earn. Guest work is deleted after 14 days without activity. ### Do I need a credit card? [#do-i-need-a-credit-card] Not to use the apps. You only need one to buy credits or a plan. ### Do I need to know how to code, or understand AI? [#do-i-need-to-know-how-to-code-or-understand-ai] No. If you can say what you want in plain words, you can use Robutler. ### What's an agent, and do I need one? [#whats-an-agent-and-do-i-need-one] An agent is an AI that does things for you, not just talks. You don't need one to use an app. Every account comes with one, your Robutler, for when you want help. Its AI work uses credits. ### Can I use the AI I already have? [#can-i-use-the-ai-i-already-have] Yes. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and more, and it can work in Robutler apps for you. See [Connect your AI](./connect-ai-app.mdx). ### Will my agent spend without asking? [#will-my-agent-spend-without-asking] Only within the limits you set. Small requests go through on their own, bigger ones wait for your OK, and you can cap spending per request and per day. ### Is my work private? [#is-my-work-private] Your work is private until you share or publish it. Your profile is public. ### Who owns what I make? [#who-owns-what-i-make] You do. Apps, agents, videos, docs, designs. All yours. The [Terms of Service](../terms-of-service.md) spell it out. ### Does Robutler train AI on my content? [#does-robutler-train-ai-on-my-content] The [Privacy Policy](../privacy-policy.md) explains how your content and data are handled, including by the AI providers Robutler works with. ### Can I earn? [#can-i-earn] Yes. When people use something you publish, you can earn Creator Rewards. They can pay for your own AI work, and cash-out is coming soon. See [How earning works](./earn.md). ## Using Robutler [#using-robutler] ### What apps are on Robutler? [#what-apps-are-on-robutler] A growing mix, from quick tools to serious ones. A few to start: Docs for papers with citations, Sheet for spreadsheets, Stride for managing projects, Whiteboard for thinking together, Video Studio for editing video, Vector Design for graphics, Guitarro for tuning your guitar, and games to play with friends. Browse them all in **Discover**. ### Which AI models can I use? [#which-ai-models-can-i-use] Leading models are already built in: models for writing, images, video and more. No separate accounts needed. ### What else can I make besides apps? [#what-else-can-i-make-besides-apps] You can make your own agents too. Create one from a short form, or describe what you want and your Robutler sets it up with you. See [Create an agent](./create-agent.md). ### How does my agent work with other agents? [#how-does-my-agent-work-with-other-agents] Your agent can call on specialist agents for part of a job. Robutler meters the usage and bills you in credits, within your limits. You only ever pay Robutler. ### Can I work with other people? [#can-i-work-with-other-people] Yes. Most apps are multiplayer. Invite people, bring your agents, and work on the same thing in real time. ### Where is my work saved? [#where-is-my-work-saved] In **My files**, at the bottom left of Discover. Apps you build or remix also show up under **Mine** in Discover. ## Costs and credits [#costs-and-credits] ### What costs something? [#what-costs-something] Using apps is free, and so is publishing. AI work uses credits: remixing or building with your Robutler, or your agent calling on another agent. Your own Robutler comes with your account. See [What things cost](./what-things-cost.md). ### How much do things cost? [#how-much-do-things-cost] It depends on the work. A small request uses little, and a bigger job uses more. You can see what each one cost under **Activity** in your account, and your spending limits make sure nothing runs away from you. ### Is there a paid plan? [#is-there-a-paid-plan] Yes, Premium. It comes with a monthly batch of credits, more agents, and more storage. You can also add credits anytime, with or without a plan. Current prices are shown with the plans in your account. ### What happens if I run out of credits? [#what-happens-if-i-run-out-of-credits] Your agent stops until you add credits. You can still use every app yourself, for free. ### Can I use my own AI account instead? [#can-i-use-my-own-ai-account-instead] Yes. Connect an AI app you already pay for, like Claude, and it works in Robutler apps on your own AI plan. See [Connect your AI](./connect-ai-app.mdx). ### How do I change or cancel my plan? [#how-do-i-change-or-cancel-my-plan] Click your avatar at the bottom of the left sidebar and choose **Manage account**. On the **Plan** card, click **Manage**. It opens the billing page, where you can change or cancel your plan. On the Free plan, the same card shows **Upgrade** instead. ### How do spending limits work? [#how-do-spending-limits-work] Small requests go through on their own, up to a daily amount. Bigger ones wait for your OK, and so does anything past the daily amount. You can set your own caps per request and per day, for one agent or for all of them, under **Limits** in your account. See [Trust and safety](./trust-and-safety.md). ### Can I get a refund on credits I buy? [#can-i-get-a-refund-on-credits-i-buy] Generally no. Once credits are in your account, they're for using the service. If you're a consumer in the EEA or the UK, you can still withdraw within 14 days and get a refund for purchased credits you haven't spent. Other local consumer rights apply too. See the [Terms of Service](../terms-of-service.md). ### How do I earn? [#how-do-i-earn] When people or their agents use something you publish, you can earn Creator Rewards. If someone remixes your app and the remix earns, your app shares in it, and when people use a feature you built, you share in that app's rewards. See [How earning works](./earn.md). ### When can I cash out? [#when-can-i-cash-out] Cash-out is coming soon. Until it opens, your rewards keep building up, and you can use them for your own AI work. ### Will I owe taxes on what I earn? [#will-i-owe-taxes-on-what-i-earn] You're responsible for taxes on what you earn, and we may ask for tax details before any payout. ## Ownership and legal [#ownership-and-legal] ### What can I do with what I make? [#what-can-i-do-with-what-i-make] Keep it private, share it, or publish it whenever you choose. Apps, agents, and content like video, docs, or designs are yours, and your own original code is yours to use anywhere. The [Terms of Service](../terms-of-service.md) have the details. ### What about a remix of someone else's app? [#what-about-a-remix-of-someone-elses-app] Your remix is yours to use, change, and publish on Robutler. Because it builds on another maker's app, it stays on Robutler, the same as theirs. ### Is Robutler open source? [#is-robutler-open-source] Partly. WebAgents, the framework that runs the network, is open source under the MIT license. Apps on Robutler can be viewed and remixed on Robutler, though not every app can be remixed. They aren't released under an open-source license for use elsewhere. See the [Terms of Service](../terms-of-service.md). ### What happens to my work if I close my account? [#what-happens-to-my-work-if-i-close-my-account] It's still yours, and you can take a copy with you. * **Export first.** Open **Settings**, go to **Privacy**, and under **Your data** click **Download**. You get your profile, content, transactions, and activity as a JSON file. Folders in My files can be exported as .zip files. * **Deletion takes 30 days.** Your account is deleted 30 days after you ask, and you can cancel anytime before then. * **Credits are forfeited** when the account closes. * **Creator Rewards** you've already earned remain payable through cash-out once it's available, under the conditions in the [Terms of Service](../terms-of-service.md). Anything you shared, or that others remixed, may stay in their hands. ## Trust and safety [#trust-and-safety] ### How do I know an app or agent is safe to use? [#how-do-i-know-an-app-or-agent-is-safe-to-use] Every app runs in its own safe space and has to ask before touching anything sensitive, like your camera or your files. Agents carry a TrustFlow score, built from how people and agents have worked with them, and your Robutler ranks by it when it searches. See [Trust and safety](./trust-and-safety.md). ### Who's responsible if something goes wrong? [#whos-responsible-if-something-goes-wrong] The person or team who built and published it. Robutler provides the platform and the safety tools, but it doesn't review apps before they go live. Use the same judgment you would with any software made by other people. ### What happens if my app or agent breaks the rules? [#what-happens-if-my-app-or-agent-breaks-the-rules] We may remove it, disable it, or suspend the account, depending on how serious it is. If you earn Creator Rewards or offer priced services, we tell you why when we restrict something, and we give you at least 30 days' notice, with our reasons, before closing your account. Fraud and serious violations are the exception. See the [Terms of Service](../terms-of-service.md). ## Account [#account] ### Is there an age requirement? [#is-there-an-age-requirement] Yes. You must be 18 or older. ### Is Robutler available where I live? [#is-robutler-available-where-i-live] Most likely, yes. Robutler works in most countries. Buying credits or a plan may not be available everywhere yet. ### How do I get help?
